"Politics and the Media" Open House in Special Collections

To complement the second lecture in the Thomas B. Murphy Lecture Series for 2021-2022, Ingram Library's Special Collections will host an open house, Politics and the Media, from 9am to 3pm on October 14. News clippings, political cartoons, scrapbooks, and other materials from U.S. congressional collections, the Thomas B. Murphy papers, and other archival collections will be on display to explore the interchange between national, state, and local politicians with the media. This event is free and open to the public.
The Thomas B. Murphy Lecture Series is led by the Murphy Center for Public Service (contact: Dr. Karen Owen). The first lecture is September 9, noon-1pm, on the topic, "Redistricting," will be presented by Bryan P. Tyson, Partner at Taylor English Duma, LLC. The second lecture, on October 14, noon-1pm, will be "Georgia Politics Seen Through the Media," presented by Bill Nigut, Host of Political Rewind, GPB, and Jim Galloway, retired political columnist at the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
