Each year in October, we paint campus "wolf red and blue" with a variety of events leading up to the Big Game!

Guidelines for registering candidates:

  • Candidate must be sponsored by a currently registered student organization, a Greek organization, athletic team, or residence hall/floor
  • Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative institutional GPA, must be a junior (60+ hours at UWG), senior, or graduate student, and must be currently enrolled Full time {12 hours for undergraduate, 9 hours for graduate) at UWG. Please note that this is a minimum qualification and candidates will be judged in the area of academic success.
  • Candidates must continue to be enrolled in 12 or more hours for undergraduate students and for graduate students 9 or more hours at the University of West Georgia through Spring Semester 2019.
  • Candidates must be available to attend the judge's interview and the pageant. (Non-attendance will result in disqualification). Candidates are also expected to attend the Homecoming Parade and The Homecoming Game festivities. If you do not attend the interview, you cannot attend the Pageant, Parade, or Game as a Homecoming candidate.
  • Each candidate must submit their application by Friday, September 20th at 11:59pm on Wolf Connect. Make sure to sign up for an interview time in the Center for Student Involvement and Inclusion, Campus Center Room 123. Interviews will be Monday, September 30 and Tuesday, October 1 in the Campus Center room 104/105 beginning at 4pm.
    NOTE: CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IF ANY OF THE ABOVE POINTS ARE NOT MET.

Homecoming Spirit Competitions

Registered student organizations and departmental organizations are able to compete in the following competitions:

  • Banner Contest: Organizations have the chance to show their artistic talents at the Homecoming game with the banner contest
  • Paint the Halls: Show your spirit, creativity, and Out Of This World painting skills by painting a window in a Residence Hall
  • Sidewalk Contest: Using the sidewalk outside of the University Community Center, organizations use their creativity to chalk any design
  • Glow Parade: Organizations can decorate cars, trucks, or create their own float for a chance to participate in the annual Glow Parade
