Complete Contract

As soon as you decide to attend UWG, we recommend that you complete your Housing Contract for the best chance at your first preference. You will not select your own room, but we will use your submitted preferences—room type, building, roommate(s), and more—when making assignments.

Choose Your Roommate

When completing your Housing Contract, you’ll be able to indicate whether you want to create or join a roommate group. Roommate groups can include two or four students, and all members must confirm each other in the Housing Portal. If you don’t join a group, you’ll be matched with roommates who share similar preferences, lifestyles, and interests.

Housing Assignment Dates

First year students will be assigned to their space based on preference of space type and roommates when available (not guaranteed). Room assignments will be made in order of contract submission date

Are first-year students required to live on campus?

Yes. Students coming from more than 30 miles away are expected to live on campus. The residence halls remain open between the fall and spring semesters. Summer housing is available in specific buildings for students who need to remain on campus. If you believe you qualify for an exception, review details and apply on our Residency Requirement Exemption page.
