What is West Georgia Outdoors?

West Georgia Outdoors (WGO) is a part of University Recreation, managing and supporting  a climbing wall, a rental center, and an adventure trip program with the help of professional and student staff members. The community of WGO seeks to provide experiences for students, faculty, and staff through outdoor recreational activities. West Georgia Outdoors strives to provide adventures, challenges and growth by allowing patrons to push their personal limits and step out of their comfort zone through safe and exhilarating experiences.

West Georgia Outdoors prides itself in providing opportunities for students, faculty and staff where no previous experience is necessary to participate. The goal is to allow anyone to get outside in a fun and welcoming environment on whatever level they are comfortable with. By providing these opportunities, WGO seeks to lay the foundation for others to live a life with a better understanding of outdoor recreation as a whole.

Why do we "Adventure West?"

Adventure West for Challenge. Whether it is reaching the summit of a mountain or learning to ride a bike, we doubt only our limits.

Adventure West for Growth. From participating on a hiking trip to leading a Spring Break trip, everyone involved will develop essential skills to make this world a better place.

We Adventure West. When we walk across the stage at graduation, we leave West Georgia with memories, experiences, and unparalleled friendships you can’t get in the classroom.

We are West Georgia Outdoors, and we Adventure West.
