  • 8PM-10PM: Homecoming Pageant
    Campus Center Ballroom

    Homecoming PageantThe Homecoming Pageant is where all of the Homecoming Court Candidates are introduced and the top 10 women and top 10 men are revealed and have to answer a question on stage.  There is entertainment during the judges deliberation and then the Homecoming Court is announced and brought up on stage.  To find out the Homecoming King and Queen, attend the Football Game and at the half-time show the Homecoming King and Queen are announced and crowned!

  • 5PM-8PM: Homecoming Kick-Off Dinner

    Help us kick off Homecoming Week 2016 with a big party at the Campus Center! 

    The Homecoming Kick-Off Dinner will have entertainment, games, and most importantly, FREE FOOD! 

    Doors open to the Ballroom at 5PM.

    Homecoming Banner Contest

    Organizations have a chance to show their artistic talents during Homecoming week in the banner contest. Get your organization's artists together to make a banner to show your Homecoming spirit. Banners will be judged Tuesday, October 18 at 12 noon in front of the University Community Center (UCC). The banner entries will be judged on spirit, originality, creativity, and artistic talent.

    Come to the Campus Center Patio and show your Homecoming week support by wearing West Georgia red!

    Then, we'll feed you! Simple as that!

  • All Day: A DAY to Give West
    UWG Campus and Carrollton Community

    a day to give west october 20 2016ADAY is always held on the 3rd Thursday in October.  This year, it will be held on 10.20.16!

    The ADAY Campaign has evolved and become many things throughout its history at UWG.  ADAY is exactly that, A DAY to make a difference, A DAY to support UWG, A DAY to change lives and A DAY for members of the UWG community, far and wide, to celebrate the university’s success. As an Annual Giving campaign, it is ever changing and growing and this year we are excited to announce new initiatives for ADAY to GIVE WEST!

    A DAY encompasses many different components that include an alumni appeal, UWG faculty/staff, appeal, Carrollton, Bowdon and Villa Rica community appeal, and will now include an ADAY especially for our Newnan campus and a student text-to-give appeal.  We are especially excited for our volunteers to be able to go out in the community on 10.20.16 and say “thanks!!”

  • 12PM (noon): Sidewalk Chalk Contest

    Sidewalk Chalk ContestAll groups are eligible to participate in this category and are urged to be as creative as possible in depicting the Homecoming theme.

    The theme for 2016 is, "There's No Place Like UWG," much like Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz said "there's no place like home." 

    The contest will be judged on Thursday, October 20 at 12 noon in front of the University Community Center (UCC). The sidewalk entries will be judged on representation of the theme, creativity, originality, and spirit.

  • 6PM: Presidential 5K Spirit Run
    UWG Campus and Greenbelt

    Presidential 5K RunConnecting campus to community, this 5K run will begin and end at Wolf Plaza at the UWG Athletic Complex while winding its way down the Carrollton Greenbelt section going through the university's campus.  The awards ceremony will be immediately following at the wolf statue.

    All proceeds for this event will benefit the Friends of the Carrollton Greenbelt fund.

    There's No Place Like UWG! Follow the yellow brick road to UWG and watch as our students parade through campus - GLOWING!  Don't miss out! Grab your glow sticks and help kick-off the homecoming festivities! 

    Join us to have some safe nighttime fun, help illuminate the night and start Homecoming weekend off right!  This yellow brick road will be paved with excitement, fun, and fantasy! 

    As this is our first Glow Parade we're not sure what to expect. Will there be floats?  Will there be DJs and great music? Stay safe and have fun and we shall see what the night will bring!

    Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community are invited to attend the university's largest gear-up celebration for Homecoming Day!

    Have dinner at a restaurant on the Square and then join us at the AMP for the Pep Rally followed by a concert by the Platinum Band!

    Bring your tents, music, coolers, and food and celebrate with others before the game at the Homecoming game tailgate!

    Wear your Wolves gear to show support for the team and check out other tailgates throughout the UWG Athletic Complex.

    Please take note of the university's Tailgating Policies and Procedures prior to Homecoming to be aware of any regulations for your particular tailgate. 

  • 9:00AM-10:00AM: Alumni Pancake Breakfast

    After breakfast be sure to join us outside for a reception celebrating the history of athletics at the university. 

     

  • 10:30AM-12PM: Play-by-Play: Athletics at West Georgia Exhibit
    Leaving from the Coliseum

    Join the UWG Center for Public History for a reception touting the opening of "Play-by-Play: Athletics at West Georgia" exhibit on the morning of Homecoming. 

    Take in sights, sounds, and memorabilia of the long history of athletics at the university. 

     

  • 11:30AM: Alumni Association Tailgate
    UWG Athletic Complex

    University Stadium

    Attention: UWG Alumni and Friends: Look for the red alumni tent to enjoy a complimentary meal with all the fixings and have the chance to catch up with old friends, staff, and current students.

    The Alumni Association's affinity credit card partner, the Southern Credit Union will be on hand with their game day trailer grilling up hot dogs and providing satellite TV to broadcast other football games going on.

    Games, prizes, and alumni gear will be given to guests! 

    Encourage your alumni friends to stop by and visit.

  • 11:30AM: College of Science and Mathematics Meet the Dean Tailgate

    Are you a College of Science and Mathematics alum? Stop by the big red alumni tent and meet your college's new dean, Dr. Lok Lew Yan Voon. Enjoy a complimentary meal with all the fixings and have the chance to catch up with fellow COSM alumni and catch up with COSM faculty.

     

  • 2PM: KICK-OFF - West Georgia Wolves vs Mississippi College Choctaws

    Homecoming culminates with your West Georgia Wolves taking on the Mississippi College Choctaws at University Stadium!

    The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during the halftime show and make sure to stay through the game to hear the overall Homecoming Spirit Competition winners announced!  A full list of winners will be available on the Center for Student Involvement website following Homecoming.

  • 6:30PM: 3rd Annual Presidential Scholarship Gala - A Night In Paris

    Scholarship Gala

    The third annual Presidential Scholarship Gala, set in a "Night in Paris" theme, serves as a fundraiser for student scholarships through the UWG Foundation.

    Dinner followed by music and dancing. Parisian attire encouraged.  Please kindly RSVP by October 14th.
