The League of Legends team is a first varsity title at University of West Georgia. The team (6~10 players) are selected from current and incoming UWG students. The players are eligible to receive coaching that university-sponsored. Players must be enrolled full-time at the university to play on varsity esports teams.

UWG has recently joined the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) and the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE). UWG is enhancing esports by forming competitive varsity teams starting with League of Legends. 

  • UWG is holding online tryouts for the 2021-2022 League of Legends varsity season
  • Tryouts will occur throughout the fall semester, beginning Oct. 4 & 8 at 8:00 p.m. in an effort to find the top players for the competitive season this spring 2022
  • Selected applicants will be invited to play on a specific discord channel and will be evaluated on attitude and communication as well as skills
  • All applicants will be required to apply with a discord ID
  • UWG Esports is looking for players who work effectively in a team atmosphere, respond well to coaching and feedback, demonstrate a positive and inclusive attitude, and possess the skills to lead UWG Esports to the top ranks of collegiate esports
  • Follow-up tryouts will be announced at a later date
