Artifacts detailing the history of the Department of Psychology at the University of West Georgia will be exhibited in Ingram Library, ground floor, from October 2 - December 22.
The exhibition titled, 50 Years of Psychology at UWG features faculty correspondence, catalogs, newspaper clippings, textbooks, and original copies of Phenomenanda, a departmental publication started in 1985.
Displays will showcase milestones in the history of the department, contributions to UWG culture and student experience, controversy and experimentation, and development of the MA and Ph.D. programs.
Special Collections and the Center for Public History will host a reception in the Thomas Murphy Reading Room on Saturday, October 7, 12-2 p.m.
In addition to visiting the exhibit in Ingram Library, Alumni and guests participating in the Psychology Department 50th Anniversary celebration will also get a sneak-peek at the Center' for Public History's exhibit on Counterculture at UWG & the Foster Store, Love and Politics: West Georgia's Counterculture, 1968-1974 which will be installed in the Bonner House.
