Old-School Vibes, New-Era Vision: UWG, Community Come Together for Homecoming and InvestitureShare this page
The University of West Georgia brought the spirit of the ’80s to life during a Back to the Future Homecoming last week, celebrating Wolf pride with a nostalgic nod to the decade’s bold style, iconic music and unforgettable pop culture. Students, alumni, faculty and staff, and friends came together for a week of activities and traditions that showcased the energy, connection and community that make UWG special.

The celebration also marked a significant milestone in the university’s history with the investiture of its ninth president, Dr. Michael Johnson, ushering in a new chapter of leadership and opportunity. The formal occasion honored the school’s legacy while looking ahead to its future and the continued impact of its students, faculty and staff, and alumni.
From throwback activities to a historic moment in UWG leadership, Homecoming and Investiture Week offered Wolves an opportunity to celebrate both where UWG has been and where it’s headed. United by tradition and a shared commitment to the university’s future, the Wolves closed out the week with renewed pride in what it means to Go West.
