Rhetoric

My own undergraduate career as an intercollegiate debater and experience of more than two decades as the coach of a national championship intercollegiate debate program, combined with teaching more than 140 sections of public speaking and debate practicum give me a rich perspective on rhetoric. Any public policy or social issue involving the need to persuade or instances of being persuaded can be better understood through rhetorical analysis.

Gifted Education

For 14 years, i was an administrator in UWG's Honors College, including three as dean and two as interim director of the Advanced Academy - an early entrance program for high-achieving dual-enrolled students. Combined with my own time in gifted programs in elementary, junior, and high school and as an honors undergraduate student - all within Georgia - my experience has provided a rich perspective on how gifted education functions and how it better prepares students.
