Marion Franklin Cannon, MSIT

Marion is a dedicated computer science lecturer specializing in the intersection of technology education and career development. As a certified career development professional, she is passionate about equipping students with the skills and strategies needed to succeed in the modern workforce.

Her teaching experience spans multiple educational levels, including roles as an Adjunct Instructor at West Georgia Technical College and Chattahoochee Technical College, and as a Career and Technical Education Teacher for Atlanta Public Schools. This diverse background allows her to effectively bridge the gap between secondary, post-secondary, and professional life for her students.

Marion is currently enhancing her expertise as an Education Specialist (EdS) candidate in Workforce Education at the University of Georgia. She holds a Master of Science (MS) in Information Technology from Kennesaw State University, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Administrative Management from Clayton State University, and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees in both Office Administration and Computer Information Systems. She is also a Certified Professional Educator through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

Beyond the classroom, she extends her commitment to student success through a career services blog, providing valuable advice and resources. In her free time, Marion enjoys creative pursuits such as crafting with vinyl, paper, beads, and fabric, as well as playing pickleball.
