Information Technology Services
Information Technology Services (ITS) provides technology leadership and support to all areas of the University of West Georgia community. ITS offers a wide variety of services from user assistance and training, to the planning and maintenance of the campus technology infrastructure. Technology infrastructure provides access to both wired and wireless network access, e-mail access, student information system access (Banner), telephone and cable TV service. The status of all system-wide IT services can be found on our service status page (http://status.westga.edu).
High-speed Internet access is provided to the residence halls and other parts of campus through a link to the University System of Georgia's PeachNet. Wireless access is available in all academic buildings, and throughout common areas of the residence halls. Student computer labs are located in the College of Business, the Technology-enhanced Learning Center, the College of Education, and the Ingram Library. Many of these labs are used for instruction; however, the Library computers and the main lab in the Technology-enhance Learning Center are available for general use.
With faculty sponsorship, students may check out a wide-range of audio visual technology, including video cameras and projectors. ITS provides assistance with a variety of multimedia services including creation, modification, duplication and format conversion of graphic images, videos and audio media.
Students are also provided with technical support for their personal computers via Student Information Technology Services (SITS) and assistance in the residence halls via ResNet. This assistance is available at no additional cost to the student.
