In Unicorn Blood and Mother's Milk, Felicia Castro explores her experience of motherhood after her baby was diagnosed with heart disease at 20 weeks in utero: from the fantasy of possible futures to the harsh reality of what could be a fatal diagnosis. Her paintings capture the horror, harshness, and brutal beauty of navigating the day to day of mothering a baby with CHD.
