Biography
Bridgette Stewart joined the Department of Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education in the fall of 2003. She is the program coordinator for the Health and Community Wellness program. Ms. Stewart is an active member of the Georgia Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (GAHPERD) and the National Wellness Institute. She serves as chair of the Council for Wellness Certification Excellence for NWI, which recently developed the country's first set of core competencies for wellness professionals. In June 2018, Ms. Stewart was inducted into the National Wellness Institute's Circle of Leadership. Ms. Stewart holds several health and wellness certifications/specialized training:
- ACE national health coach and fitness nutrition specialist
- BLS instructor-trainer through the American Heart Association
- Certified Wellness Practitioner and a Worksite Wellness Specialist through the National Wellness Institute
- Sports Injury Specialist with the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association.
- WELCOA faculty designation
- Lifestyle coach for the CDC's National Diabetes Prevention Program
- Kids N Fitness Instructor with Tanner's Get Healthy Live Well program
- ACE Therapeutic Exercise Specialist
In August 2018, Ms. Stewart took on a new leadership responsibility as director of the Wolf Wellness Lab, which is located in The Coliseum. Ms. Stewart enjoys golfing, fitness walking, kayaking, and spending time with her two children (and her puppies Duncan and Snowflake).
