Bridgette Stewart, M. Ed.

Bridgette Stewart has an extensive career in higher education and has served in many different roles. Currently, Bridgette serves the University of West Georgia as the inaugural Chief Wellness Officer, one of only five CWOs in higher education nationwide. Before taking on the role of CWO, Bridgette served as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education since 2003. She continues to teach part-time in the Master of Science in Integrative Health and Wellness program. She is the former program coordinator for the Health and Community Wellness undergraduate degree program. She is also the Director of the Center for Integrative Wellness and the Wolf Wellness Lab. Ms. Stewart is an active National Wellness Institute Board of Directors member, serving as the President-Elect and Vice President. She has chaired the Council for Wellness Certification Excellence for NWI, which developed the country's first core competencies for wellness professionals and the Certified Wellness Practitioner credential. In June 2018, Ms. Stewart was inducted into the National Wellness Institute's Circle of Leadership. In 2023, under her leadership, the University of West Georgia was inducted into the National Wellness Institute’s Circle of Leadership. Bridgette enjoys spending time with her two children, Alex and CiCi, and playing golf with family and friends in her spare time.
