Guidance & Procedures
This page provides links to the UWG IRB’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Guidelines for Investigators to follow when preparing and conducting a human subjects research study. Compliance with the procedures and guidelines in this section is required for both the IRB and the research community.
The UWG IRB Review Guidelines define important terms (see the Glossary at end of the document) and define the roles, structure, and responsibilities of the different parts of the UWG Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Guidance for Investigators documents are for researchers and their teams to better understand UWG IRB’s thinking or expectations on matters for which there is not an SOP or clear regulatory directive.
SOPs outline how a process is to be completed. Most of the SOPs on this page are for the UWG IRB. The SOP section only lists those SOPs promulgated by the UWG IRB and should not be regarded as a complete listing of SOPs for researchers as UWG may have other SOPs that are required.
