The Office of Student Success

The Office of Student Success offers comprehensive support to help students build community, navigate college life with confidence, and thrive through innovative programs and dedicated mentorship. Our office also provides data support to help connect insights with action, enhancing the student experience.
Connect West
Connect West is a first-year experience designed to help students build community through our JUMP! pre-college program, peer mentoring, and Friday campus events. Connect West empowers students to explore campus resources, engage with peers, and feel a strong sense of belonging at the university.

JUMP!
This pre-college program is designed to offer students the opportunity to return to campus early and engage in academic and student programming focused on college readiness.

Peer Mentoring
Through mentorship, first-year students receive guidance in navigating college life and gain early exposure to career exploration opportunities. In addition, sophomore students can continue in the program as mentors.

Connect West Fridays
Students can participate in Friday activities sponsored by Campus Life designed to enhance campus engagement and launch engaging weekend experiences on campus.
Campus Life Fridays: 9/12, 9/19, 10/10, and 11/14

Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society
Phi Eta Sigma is a national honor society for first-year college students that rewards academic excellence. Students who earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 during their first semester at UWG are eligible for an invitation to join. Membership provides benefits such as scholarships, leadership opportunities, and a lifelong community through national and local chapters.

Don't Lose HOPE Scholarship Program
Students who hold the HOPE Scholarship and whose grade point averages fall just below the required threshold at the end of the fall semester, prior to earning 30 credit hours, are invited to participate in this scholarship program. Participants who successfully complete the program requirements, which include academic coaching, advising, peer mentorship, and career exploration, will receive a $500 scholarship during the spring semester. Eligibility is determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
