Alumni/Mentor FAQs

Once you have completed your mentor registration, students will be able to search for a mentor based on your interests and experience. When a student has requested to be your mentee, you will receive an email notification.

We ask that you commit for an entire semester (around 16 weeks). We ask that you have a minimum of (1) 30-60 minute meeting with your mentee each month, and encourage you to attend mentorship virtual meetings with your mentee.

We encourage mentors and students to connect on a regular basis (e.g., once-a-month phone call, zoom meeting or email conversation). However, the frequency and form of communication are things you both can determine.

Throughout the year the Alumni Engagement team will offer tips on effective mentorship techniques, topics to discuss with your student, and suggested activities to connect.

No, the benefit of technology allows a mentor relationship to be established via email, phone, and virtual meetings.

Events and programs attendance are not required. However, we do encourage you to attend program events, both in person and virtual, to build a strong connection with your student.

At this time, we will be assigning only one student per mentor. As the program grows there may be opportunities for mentors to be match with additional students.

We are grateful for your willingness to help students in this way. After you register for the mentoring program, it could take some time before you are matched with a student, since this is a student-driven program.

Student/Mentee FAQs

Register to for the mentor program on our online platform.

Once you are registered in the online platform, you will be able to search for an alumni mentor based on industry, interests, geographic area, and other criteria. Once you have found a person you would like to connect with, you can request to be matched with them.

We ask that you commit to the program for one semester. You are able to register again in future semesters if you are interested in continuing in the program.
