Convocation is your official welcome to the University of West Georgia! It kicks-off the Fall semester and is an opportunity to connect with your Pack, hear from influential leaders, and receive your Convocation t-shirt. Join us for a full day of activities like classroom tours, college Meet-and-Greets, and so much more! As a reminder, attending Convocation on August 11, 2026, is required for all incoming freshman students.

1:30 p.m. – It's All Academic
Location: Academic Colleges
Your UWG journey begins with your academic home. Meet the faculty, staff, and classmates who will support you throughout your college experience, learn what to expect in your program, and start building connections before classes begin.
3:00 p.m. – Coliseum Doors Open
Location: The Coliseum
The excitement starts here! Grab your official Class of 2030 t-shirt if you missed Orientation, sign the class banner, snap photos with friends, and enjoy music and pre-show festivities as the Pack comes together for the first time.
3:30 – 4:30 p.m. – First Howl Ceremony
Location: The Coliseum
Join your fellow Wolves for the official welcome to the University of West Georgia. Hear inspiring messages from university leaders, celebrate the beginning of your college journey, and experience UWG traditions, including signing the Fight Song, as you officially become part of our Wolf Pack.
4:30 – 5:00 p.m. – Class of 2030 Photo
Location: Hanger Field (Weather Permitting)
Be part of UWG history! Gather with your classmates for the official Class of 2030 photo – a keepsake you'll look back on long after graduation. Together, you'll capture the moment your Wolf Pack journey officially began.
5:00 – 7:00 p.m. – Wolves on the Block
Location: Love Valley
Keep the celebration going at the Wolves on the Block party! Enjoy live music, games, food, giveaways, and opportunities to connect with student organizations and campus departments. It's the perfect way to meet new friends, discover campus involvement opportunities, and kick off your first year at UWG.
Guests are welcome to park at any non-staff parking lots around campus. Wolf Experience Parking signs at our East and West Entrances will lead you to the correct parking lots.
