The Student Activities Council (SAC) is a student organization whose purpose is to provide co-curricular activities for the West Georgia community through free events, programs, and experiences. 

Our mission is to provide a variety of cultural, social, recreational, education, and entertainment programs. The executive board of SAC is comprised of the following positions:  

  • President
  • Vice President 
  • Co- Director of Campus Traditions and Engagement 
  • Co-Director of Inclusion 
  • Co-Director of Media and Marketing  
  • Co-Director of Sports and Entertainment  

The SAC executive board is responsible for coordinating and executing various events and activities. SAC is funded by the students of West Georgia through an allocation of activity fees. 

The President and Vice President serve as Executive Leadership of SAC.

Executive Board Positions

Executive Leadership: President  

The President has the responsibility of overseeing the activities of the Directors. The President presides over weekly meetings and maintains the general well-being of the board. 

Executive Leadership: Vice President  

The Vice President is responsible for records, distributes and files minutes, attendance, and agendas of all officers' and Executive Council meetings. Works closely with the officers and the Directors in the planning and production of events. 

Executive Board: Advisor

SAC is advised by the Assistant Director for Student Events and Programs. The Assistant Director for Student Events and Programs works closely with the officers and the Directors in the planning and production of events.

Program Committees

Director of Media and Marketing  

The Director of Media and Marketing promotes SAC activities by designing print and digital graphics, maintaining the Instagram account, and developing marketing events and strategies. 

Director of Inclusion 

The Director of Inclusion plans programs and activities to recognize, celebrate, and acknowledge various cultures, minority groups, or under-represented populations.  

Director of Campus Traditions and Engagement  

The Director of Campus Traditions and Engagement schedules events special to the University that do not fall under other committee program areas. For the Fall semester, they plan events for Weeks of Welcome, the Homecoming event (Wear Red, Get Fed), and other activities. 

Director of Sports and Entertainment 

The Director of Sports and Entertainment provides a variety of social experiences such as live music performances, comedians, field trips, and sporting events.
