The Interfraternity Council (IFC) serves as the governing body of the fraternity community, acting as a bridge between the fraternity community and the UWG campus. Executive officers work alongside each organization to help promote a values-based community. The Interfraternity Council Executive Board assists with recruitment, maintaining community standards, and programming surrounding scholarship, philanthropy, and brotherhood.
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) at the UWG is comprised of 9 active men’s fraternities. The IFC Community is over 50 years old and proud. Our IFC Chapters receive awards annually from their (inter)national organizations for leading the pack in programming, academics, philanthropy, and leader development.
FALL RECRUITMENT
During the fall semester, the UWG IFC conducts a semi-formal recruitment. Registered potential new members (PNM) will spend three days getting to know every chapter within the Interfraternity community. At the end of the three days, formal bids will be given out. All active chapters participate in recruitment.

September 4, 2025 - Round 0, RCOB 102 (5:30 PM – 10:00 PM) September 5, 2025 - Round 1, Greek Village (5:00 PM – 9:00 PM) September 6, 2025 - Round 2, Greek Village (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM) September 6, 2025 - Bid Day, Campus Center, Ballroom (6:00 PM -7:30 PM) November 21, 2025: New Member Institute (required attendance for all PNMs)
SPRING RECRUITMENT
During the spring semester, the UWG IFC has an informal style of recruitment. Prospective New Members are required to register, but not all chapters participate. Similar to the Fall, IFC will sponsor events and activities at the beginning of the semester; however, there will be an extended timeframe after for PNMs and chapters to get to know each other outside of recruitment events.
365 RECRUITMENT
365 Recruitment is a practice in which chapters can recruit members outside of formal and informal recruitment periods. This practice is continuous, allowing chapters to take 1-2 classes a semester or 1-4 classes as a new member in a year. In other words, a chapter can recruit new members throughout the semester without a PNM participating in Fall or Spring recruitment. We strongly encourage PNMs to build a relationship with the chapter to determine the best fit for someone participating in recruitment.
