Multicultural Greek Council

Where Culture Meets Community
The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) at the University of West Georgia is home to two culturally based fraternities and sororities. United by a commitment to celebrating diversity, fostering inclusion, serving our campus and local community, and achieving academic excellence, MGC organizations also create opportunities for cultural celebration, leadership growth, and collaboration across differences.
The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is dedicated to encouraging unity and empowerment among multicultural Greek organizations, promoting philanthropic/public service, and spreading awareness of multicultural diversity at the University of West Georgia - Carrollton Campus and the surrounding Carrollton area.

Membership Requirements
Each Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) organization welcomes new members through a New Member Education Process, beginning with a series of events often called Recruitment Week. These weeks feature educational, social, and service activities designed to help students connect with members and learn about the organization. Most groups host informational meetings to share general details and interest meetings for students ready to take the next step toward membership. After recruitment week, organizations may extend invitations to individuals who meet both MGC and national membership requirements.
Students interested in joining are required to attend Multicultural Greek 101, held each semester. These events are free for all UWG students and are a great way to explore MGC life. For more information, please contact the MGC President Josselyn Barahona-Ortiz, mgc@westga.edu
