How do I register?
You will register on your student portal on the myUWG site. Click on the Orientation tab and complete the steps as followed.
How do I know my registration is complete?
After your payment is complete you will get an e-mail notification that verifies your attendance. If there are any concerns call us at 678-839-4739.
Why is orientation important?
Orientation marks the beginning of the semester for the new students. It is important because it is designed to help you settle into the university and provide information to fully prepare you for the start of your classes. During Orientation you will meet many new faces and learn about different organizations you would want to get into, and also talk with your advisors in your area of study so you can be prepared for the semester.
Why is spending the night at orientation important?
You get the taste of living in a residence hall and a chance a meet new students. There are also fun activities we will do at the residence hall so you would not want to miss the opportunity.
I'm getting an error when I sign up for orientation, what should I do?
Call our office at 678-839-4739. We will work with you to try to figure out what the problem is.
What happens if I cannot attend any of the sessions provided?
Orientation is required for undergraduate students, but if you cannot make it call us at 678-839-4739 so we can answer any of your concerns.
What will I learn at orientation?
At Orientation you will learn about the campus, your area of study, what courses you will be taking, and the different organizations you can join on campus.
Do I need to bring money?
Once your reservation is made, there will be know out-of-pocket, programatic expenses when you're on site. You may still bring money for any souvenirs or UWG swag. Our bookstore willl be open!
What should I bring to orientation?
- Current government issued photo ID - U.S. Drivers's License, State-Issued ID Card, Passport, or U.W. Military ID to get your Wolves Card
- Casual-comfortable clothing and walking shoes.
- Over night items - toiletries, towel, Twin size sheets or sleeping bag
- Money for snacks & souvenirs
- Rain Jacket and/or umbrella
- Any outstanding paperwork needed to be turned in.
If I am attending orientation as a Freshman, does my guest have to spend the night?
Guests do not spend the night on campus with their student. Guests are encouraged to find over night accommodations off campus. Local hotel information is listed on our website under "Parents & Guests." No on-campus overnight accommodations are available for guests at this time.
How long is orientation for a one day session? What about a two day session?
One Day :
8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Day 1: 8 a.m.- All Day
Day 2: 8 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.
