Overview of Strategic Initiatives Alignment

For fiscal year 2027 (FY27), please note these important updates about the Student Technology Fee proposal procedure.

  • The proposal submission process is not changing. All proposers will still need to submit proposals and supporting documents through the Tech Fee Proposal Form.
  • Tech fee review will still be conducted by each receiving unit. This review will be held at the Unit/College level to approve and rank projects prior to review by the Tech Fee committee.
  • All proposals will go before the Tech Fee committee. This committee will evaluate proposals against the needs of the college and university, as well as this year's strategic objectives. Proposals will also be evaluated against duplication of existing services across the university. This committee is comprised of:
    • Representation of each College/Unit
    • One representative from the Faculty Senate
    • One representative from the Staff Advisory Council
    • One representative from Academic Affairs
    • One representative from Student Affairs
    • Student representatives nominated by the SGA

The committee will be comprised of 50% student representation.

  • University Leadership will provide oversight of the technology fee award. All recommendations by the Tech Fee Committee will go to University Leadership for approval to ensure alignment with the University's Strategic Goals.
