Rebecca Smith serves as the Director of the University of West Georgia’s Newnan campus and as an instructor for the University System of Georgia’s eCore ECON 1101 and UWG’s Cornerstone (XIDS 2002) courses. She oversees campus budgeting, facilities, technology, scheduling, and personnel operations while fostering a student-centered environment focused on academic excellence and community engagement.

From 2009 to 2022, she worked with the USG eCampus administration team as part of the Student Success Team, providing resources and support to enhance student achievement. From 2011 to 2018, she also served as the liaison between UWG and Georgia Highlands College at Douglasville, managing UWG programs at that site.

Rebecca has contributed extensively to university service, including the UWG Seamless Integration Team, Continuous Improvement Institute, Presidential Search and Screen Committee, Leadership Development Institute, Engage West Barrier Team, Master Plan Committee, and multiple system-level initiatives.

Active in her community, Rebecca serves as Treasurer for the Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park, the Carrollton Evening Sertoma Club, and the National Association of Branch Campus Administrators. She is past Chair of the UWG Athletic Foundation and a board member of the Carroll County Emergency Shelter for victims of domestic violence. In addition, she coordinates the Carrollton July 4th People’s Parade and chairs the Carrollton Empty Stocking Fund.
