UWG FY22 Research and Sponsored Programs Report

In-depth exploration. Exciting fieldwork. Dynamic collaborative projects.

At the University of West Georgia, the pursuit of original research by students and faculty is a central aspect of academic life. Through these research-based initiatives, students and faculty are able to produce first-rate research projects and contribute to a deeper understanding of any discipline.

In February of 2016, the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education upgraded the University of West Georgia's research classification, placing UWG among a higher class of institutions for its research work comparable to four doctoral universities of the eight in the state.
