
Space Management
The mission of Space Management is to provide comprehensive facilities planning assistance to all units of the university, ensuring maximum utilization of physical space resources for both academic and administrative units. Our team is responsible for event scheduling, the placement of courses and course related events within academic buildings, and assists departments with the use Reserve West, UWG's online reservation system.
Space AllocationSpace Change Requests
All requests for office relocations, relocations of existing departments or units, and space use modification begin with the Space Management. The request will require the approval of the Director of Space Management. You may be asked to meet to clarify or provide additional justification of your request. Submission of the form does not imply approval. You will be notified regarding the decision of your request in a timely manner.
Reserve WestMeeting and Event Reservations
We are the first stop for your meeting and event planning needs at the University of West Georgia. Whether you are planning a meeting for five people or a large event for five hundred we can help you each step of the way ensure a successful execution of your event.
Centralized Course SchedulingAcademic Course Assignments
Space Management is responsible for overseeing the scheduling of general classroom space. The Director of Space Management has established formal scheduling protocols to ensure effective centralized scheduling for all academic defined space through the optimization process in the EMS (Reserve West) software.
Campus SignagePermanent Interior and Exterior Signage
The Office of Facilities Development and Sustainability (FD&S) in collaboration with University Communications & Marketing is responsible for all permanent identification, Wayfinding, and information signage. Its design, including determination and inclusion of text and symbols, is the responsibility of the FD&S, as is its placement.
FD&S is the first-stop for all office and room signage needs. For Wayfinding requests or other interior signage outside of room identification, please begin with UCM by submitting the Design Request Form.
FurnitureFurniture selection – including re-using existing furniture, finishes
Space Management is responsible for reviewing all furniture-related requests, including the relocation of existing furniture and the procurement of new furniture.
On the move?We can help!
When a move is initiated centrally, by campus leadership via Facilities, the process will be managed by Space Management. Other moves such as a department reassigning office space within an already allocated footprint, then the Space Allocation Form should be submittied for approval.
