The Office of Community Standards serves to engage students on issues of community membership and responsible decision making. We foster cognitive, personal, professional, and academic development with an emphasis on integrity and respect. This is accomplished by assessing a student's needs, providing proactive education, referring them to available resources, and promoting healthy lifestyle choices.
Our primary purpose is to uphold community standards for students and organizations through providing preventive education and positive educational learning experiences for students found responsible of violating the student code of conduct policy. The Office of Community Standards is committed to making the University of West Georgia a safe and productive learning environment.
Educating Students for Responsible Citizenship & Leadership
The Office of Community Standards provides oversight of the university student conduct system and supports students’ holistic development as responsible citizens within the campus community. The purpose of the university conduct process is to support student development toward mature and positive decision making. Our goal is to provide educational learning experiences to help students learn from the university conduct experience and to demonstrate responsible citizenship as members of the university community.
