Ashlee Davis, Ph.D

Dr. Ashlee Davis is an Assistant Professor of Health and Community Wellness at the University of West Georgia (UWG). As a physical activity behavioral health researcher, Dr. Davis studies the psychosocial antecedents and consequences of physical activity. More specifically, Dr. Davis is interested in promoting positive mental health and physical activity using community based approaches. She currently serves as the PI for the UWG Student Athlete Mental Health initiative. This initiative is a collaborative effort that incorporates the Sharpen AthleteTM and PerformeaXTM program to provide a peer-focused mental health literacy intervention and mental health screenings to student athletes. She also serves as the PI for the Girls Empowering Movement (GEM) initiative, which is a physical activity based program for middle school girls.

Dr. Davis earned both her doctoral (Kinesiology - Exercise Psychology) and masters degrees (Exercise Science) from Georgia State University, and her undergraduate degree (Health Science) from Howard University. Her professional training and certifications include: American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Exercise Physiologist, Wellcoaches Certified Health and Wellness coach, National Board Certified Health and Wellness coach (NBC-HWC), and 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher.
