Jessica Thompson, Ed.D.

Dr. Jessica Thompson has worked in the field of education since 1999 and has developed a love of learning and sharing knowledge with her students. She is a lecturer in the University of West Georgia’s Educational Technology and Foundations Department and serves as the Program Coordinator for the School Library Media program. She is interested in how the self-efficacy of school librarians affects student learning. She loves all things school library related, especially when it comes to collection development and children's and YA literature. She is a member of ALA, AASL, ALSC, VAASL, and GLMA. She also serves on the editorial board for School Library Research. Jessica authored the 2021 Knowledge Quest article "Cultivating Our Self-Efficacy as School Librarians", co-authored the 2021 School Library Research article “School Librarians’ Teacher Self-Efficacy: A Predictor of Reading Scores?” and authored the 2015 School Library Connection article “Ladies and Fairies and Cats, Oh,My!: Innovative Library Promotion.”
