Carrie Booher

I bring three decades of educational leadership experience to this role, grounded in a deep commitment to student safety, success, and well-being. My career spans work in elementary, middle, and high schools, and includes local school and district-level leadership roles in both large and small school systems. Among my many leadership positions (Assistant Principal, Principal, Coordinator of Research and Accountability, Director of Academic Support, Assistant Superintendent, Associate Superintendent, and Superintendent), I most enjoyed serving as a high school principal in a district that I ultimately led as the Superintendent. I earned a BA from The University of Georgia in Psychology, a Masters from Georgia State University in School Counseling, and a Doctorate of Education from The University of Georgia in Educational Leadership.

I have long championed proactive leadership, innovation, and community collaboration. I've frequently advocated at the state and national levels, while sharing successful programs and promoting forward-thinking solutions that improve outcomes for students and communities.

I am married to Paul, and we have two grown children, John Paul and Caroline.
