The Atlanta Regional Council for Higher Education's Cross Registration Program allows
students at ARCHE member institutions to broaden their academic experience by registering for courses at other member colleges
and universities. It shares the resources of ARCHE member specialties by providing
students access to courses not offered at their home institution and allows a chance
to experience a different campus environment.
Participating schools allow you to take courses on a space available basis. No seats are "held" for cross registration requests. Always have a back-up plan that includes a course at your home institution in case your cross registration request cannot be processed.
Registration is handled through a student's home institution. Students must contact their college or university's Cross Registration Coordinator, and the University of West Georgia's Cross Registration Coordinator is April Luallen.
Starting the Cross Registration Process
Special Note: Students must be registered in at least 3 hours at UWG to participate in the ARCHE program. We cannot process your application until you are registered for the semester you plan to enroll in the ARCHE program.
- Download and print a copy of the Cross Registration Application. Please fill out the form electronically before you print it. We can no longer accept
hand written applications (other than the signatures).
- Schedule an appointment with your Academic Advisor to discuss the course (s) that
you want to enroll at an ARCHE member institution. In order to process the ARCHE application,
the Academic Advisor's signature MUST BE present on the form. The student is also
responsible for ensuring that the "section 2: Courses Requested" portion of the application
has been completed and desired courses are clearly listed. If this section is left
blank, your application cannot be processed. *Please note that Georgia Tech now requires
that you submit an unofficial transcript along with your ARCHE application to be considered
for the ARCHE program at their institution.
Bring the completed application to the Registrar’s office in Parker Hall for processing. The host institution will be in direct contact with the student concerning registration or additional information that may be needed. Applications must be received at the host institution by the stated deadlines: Fall: Jul 15/Spring: Nov 15
UWG does not participate in the ARCHE program for summer.
- The home institution (UWG) will register you in “holding “courses until we receive your final transcript from the host institution. Once registration is completed, your records will reflect the registered course(s) at both institutions. Please contact your home institution coordinator if you see any discrepancies. When the final transcript is received, your grades will be posted as transfer credit.
If you decide to drop an ARCHE cross registration class during drop/add or withdraw after classes have begun, it is your responsibility to notify both your home and host institution coordinators. Failure to do so can result in a grade of "F."
