Message from the Chair of the UWG Alumni Association Board of Directors

It is an honor to serve as Chair of the UWG Alumni Association Board of Directors during a time of incredible momentum and possibility.

This year, our alumni association is guided by three powerful words: Anticipate. Elevate. Celebrate. These words reflect our shared commitment to forward-thinking leadership, uplifting the student and alumni experience and recognizing the institution’s success, all while honoring the special culture that defines our UWG community.

As someone who believes deeply in the power of storytelling to connect people and spark meaningful action, I see these guiding words come to life every day at UWG. Under President Johnson’s leadership, our students, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners continue to do amazing work, and our academic programs are nationally recognized for launching careers and shaping futures. The elevation of our athletic programs to NCAA Division I status offers us an exciting and unique opportunity to take every aspect of UWG to the next level.

The UWG Alumni Association Board of Directors is an incredible group of leaders who play a vital role in shaping the university’s trajectory. We anticipate the evolving needs of our students and alumni, elevate opportunities for engagement and growth and celebrate both the legacy and future of UWG. I am proud to lead this incredible team as we invest in the university’s continued success.

Applying to the Alumni Board of Directors (alumni)

Serving on the UWG Alumni Board of Directors provides alumni an opportunity to make a tangible, positive difference in the lives of our current students, alumni, and the entire UWG community. Membership requires a three-year commitment, which includes attending quarterly meetings, serving on once board Task Force with virtual meetings prior to the quarterly board meetings, and making a financial gift to the University. Terms begin July 1 and end June 30. Applications are open through February 1, 2026 for the term beginning July 1, 2026. Please contact alumni@westga.edu with any questions.

Student Alumni Association Board of Directors (current students)

UWG Alumni & Constituent Engagement is excited to invite current UWG students to apply for a position on the Student Alumni Association (SAA) Board of Directors. The SAA Board works closely with the UWG Alumni Association Board of Directors to foster relationships between alumni and the university. SAA Board membership is a meaningful way to be involved in creating the UWG student experience. The SAA Board meets quarterly (four times per academic year) as a full board and works in smaller task forces throughout the year to make a positive impact on UWG students as they interact with alumni.
