Important Parking Update: Parking is Going Digital at UWG!

Beginning July 1, UWG transitioned to License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology to support vehicle registration and parking enforcement. Vehicle registration is still required for students each academic year.

What's Changing?

  • No parking hangtag required.
  • Your license plate is now your parking permit.
  • Parking orientation requirements have changed.

Parking Orientation Requirements

To allow the LPR system to identify registered vehicles, vehicles should be parked with the registered license plate facing the driving lane.

Individuals who prefer to continue backing into or pulling through parking spaces may obtain an optional front plate from the Campus Services Office in the Momentum Center. Front plates are available for a one-time fee of $10 and may be transferable between vehicles.

What You Need to Do

    • Register your vehicle online.
    • Keep your vehicle and license plate information up to date.
    • Update your registration if you change vehicles or license plates.
    • Review the FAQs for additional information about LPR and parking regulations.
