Dr. Tommy Jackson is an Assistant Professor of Higher Education Administration and College Student Affairs at the University of West Georgia. Dr. Jackson is an FMG Research and Policy Fellow off-campus this year working to develop language for name, image, and likeness legislation. Dr. Jackson's research interests include the NCAA's economic relationship with student-athletes, higher education policy, finance, and law. He holds a Ph.D. in Adult Education with Higher Education Administration, an M.Ed. in Adult Education, and a BA in Public Administration from Auburn University. Additionally, Dr. Jackson holds an MBA and MPA from Kennesaw State University. Dr. Jackson will complete his law degree in 2023 and pass the bar exam shortly after graduation. After three years in the NFL, Dr. Jackson transitioned into a career in education. Before his current role, Dr. Jackson served as the Director of Advising Services (University College) at Kennesaw State University. He also created and directed the academic support program for Kennesaw State Football.
